Recently, a variety of skin rashes were reported to have triggered by mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. While some of these lesions appear only after several days after the injection, doctors confirmed that these side effects tend to be minor and resolve spontaneously. Moreover, the anaphylaxis-like reactions which present after the first dose, are less likely to occur after the second or will be much less severe.

Data suggest that after mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, delayed large local reactions were most common, accounting for 66% of the cases—after the first vaccine dose and for 30% of the cases—after the second dose. Meanwhile, only 27% of the individuals who had a reaction with the first dose had the same reaction with the second.

It was also stated that these reactions are not cellulitis-type and do not require antibiotics.
